As our new fall tasting menu has just been released this week, we thought this would be a perfect time to reflect on the season and what it means to us. Our summer menu encapsulated the time of the year through its lightness and brightness of ingredients, specifically featuring local and seasonal produce that Ontario summers bring. In contrast, our fall menu is meant to wrap you up like a big warm hug. It features heavier dishes that are fattier and warmer as well, aiming to make you feel full and satisfied in the most pleasurable of ways.
The plate we believe encapsulates the spirit of the fall season best is the Pumpkin Patch; the pièce de resistance of the meal, intended to be served between two people. Families all across Ontario are now flocking to farms to find the perfect pumpkin to make a delicious Thanksgiving pie or one to carve spooky shapes out of for Halloween. In our dish, the pumpkin is served on a bed of hay that is meant to represent a literal pumpkin patch. Inside, guests will find a decadent, rich soufflé of bone marrow waiting to be spread over fresh house-made pumpkin seed bread. Indulgently luxurious and addictive, it may dark and gloomy outside, but our fall menu this season will make you feel comfortably cozy and happy inside.
